Description of profession:
A doctor’s assistant is a medical person
- who provides an emergency medical help to sick people whose life is endangered or under a critical condition. This help is provided on prehospital stage and in the emergency departments at hospital.
- A doctor’s assistant can work independently to give a diagnosis, to prescribe the treatment, to use and prescribe medicines (with a strong medical effect as well) and to attest a patient’s death.
- A doctor’s assistant provides systematical medical help and preventive measures to patients of both sexes and all age groups at all 3 heath care levels in cooperation with a doctor.
- A doctor’s assistant is competent to perform all these functions being registered him/her in the register of specialists certificated to practice. After the certification a doctor’s assistant performs these functions
